My Biggest Disappointment
Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."
Well, Freddy, you are supposed to get someone else to wear them.
What's disappointed you lot?

They has disappointed
From "Load" onwards. Metallica that is.
I have become that kvlt about Metallica, that I can only listen to "Kill 'Em All", "Ride The Lightning" and "Master of Puppets".
If I hear anything that isn't from them albums on Rock Nights, you won't see me windmilling on the dancefloor to it.
Basically, it seems to happen with a lot of bands. They get several albums down the line and run out of ideas, or alter on a detrimental level, or get plain lazy.

There's nothing wrong
with the songs on And Justice For All... it's just the shit production that lets them down. But if you just turn up your stereo, it's still a great album.

I think
That Justice is a brilliant album, with no bad songs on it, and no standout tracks that steal the thunder from the rest of the efforts (to put this in perspective, Foo Fighters starting their latest album with Pretender kind of spoils the rest of it for me, as it just can't live up to the first track).
As for Metallica in general, I think Justice was their last good album. 'Metallica' (Black) was ok, it had some cracking songs (read: singles) on it, but there were too many poor and boring tracks to be considered a good album. Load and reload could have just been one album, 8 tracks long. I've even cut them down on my ipod as such.
Words can't describe my facial expressions when I first heard St Anger. Although apparently the new album is produced by Rick Rubin, so hopefully he can rescue them

Load may have been disappointing
but at least Lars Ulrich didn't replace his snare with a bin lid.

@Todd
Probably. Although I wonder whether Lars Ullrich does, it was his idea to cut their hair and go 'alternative rock', it was his idea to hire Bob Rock (Mr Commercial). he didn't even bother to take drum lessons, until he realised he was shite and bucked his ideas up for Justice.
if they'd put some guitar solos, some genuine thrash and some better production, it probably would have been half decent.

Good call
Every so often I have a thought that appears in the back of my mind saying 'It really couldn't have been that bad could it?' So I dig out my copy give it a listen and fairly quickly come to the realisation that yes, it is *that* bad...
