DIY disastersI just can't do power tools. They always fly out of control and end up embedded somewhere they shouldn't. I've no idea how I've still got all the appendages I was born with.
Add to that the fact that nothing ends up square, able to support weight or free of sticking-out sharp bits and you can see why I try to avoid DIY.

I sympathise...I bought my 1887 house about 4 years ago now. To this day there are no pictures on the walls or shelves because the bricks just crumble away when you drill, screw or nail in to them.
But it does still have it's original windows with the original glass. When you look out the window it's like being drunk because of all the imperfections in the glass.
