DIY disastersI just can't do power tools. They always fly out of control and end up embedded somewhere they shouldn't. I've no idea how I've still got all the appendages I was born with.
Add to that the fact that nothing ends up square, able to support weight or free of sticking-out sharp bits and you can see why I try to avoid DIY.

More wallpaper graffitiCoopsweb's post reminded me: I recently helped a good friend redecorate her house.
In the bathroom we found the following little gem hidden behind the wallpaper:
"I hope you have as much fun redecorating this bathroom as I did -
When you have finished, treat yourself to a nice long soak!"
And in the living room, a line drawn on the wall about 8ft up with the following written next to it:
"How high is a chinaman?"
