DIY disasters
I just can't do power tools. They always fly out of control and end up embedded somewhere they shouldn't. I've no idea how I've still got all the appendages I was born with.
Add to that the fact that nothing ends up square, able to support weight or free of sticking-out sharp bits and you can see why I try to avoid DIY.

my boyfriend...
...did exactly the same thing when we were putting up some Ikea flat pack shelves. I went ballistic because I'd managed to put 3 of them together perfectly but as soon as I left him to do it...grr. I broke a lot of nails (the finger kind) trying to take it apart to put it the right way round.
The poor soul has a first class Maths degree - heavy lifting, DIY etc is a no no! But i still love him.
