This is a question Driven to Madness

Captain Placid asks: What annoying things do significant others, workmates and other people in general do that drive you up the wall? Do you want to kill your other half over their obsessive fridge magnet collection? Driven to distraction over your manager's continued use of Comic Sans (The Font of Champions)? Tell us.

Vodaphone
1. "You have no credit on your PAYG phone. Please top-up."
2. "Your top-up has failed. Please call customer service."
3. "You cannot speak to customer service because you have no credit. Please top up."

After dealing with Vodaphone it is a positive pleasure to get back to back to BT. BT are incompetent, but passively so. Vodaphone have actively worked on making their customer service (sic) as infuriating as it is possible to be.

I've never had a PAYG phone
but it seems kind of retarded that any network wouldn't let you talk to Customer Services if you didn't have credit?!

Retarded? It's fucking Kafkaesque.
It turned out that they have a secret rule that says you can only top up any one SIM card with £30 from any one credit/debit card in any one month. So if you have done one £30 top up, you can't do another with the same card.

But do they tell you this with a helpful message, like "You have reached your top-up limit for this card. Please use another card or a voucher"? Oh no, they just tell you the fucking top-up has fucking failed and that you have to fucking ring fucking customer fucking services which you fucking can't fucking do because you fucking haven't fucking got any fucking, fucking, fucking credit.

It's lucky I am so calm and phlegmatic in disposition, otherwise I might have got worked up about it.

spent the last minute trying to figure out how "customer service" was misspelt in your "quote" but it turns out it wasn't a quote and it wasn't misspelt. so why the "sic"?
