PffftThat beats what my mum did today. As I was sewing some stuff on her sewing machine she said "there's a light on here if it helps" and turns the lamp on. Big bang and big flash and lots of little bits of glass everywhere from the bulb which hadn't been used for about 30 years.
Brother came downstairs to see why all the electricity in the house had gone off.
