You do?I believe it's some alloy on the back and plastic on the visible teeth on the NHS: at least, that's what me and the mister have had.
Also, it's £45ish for fillings on NHS without the "free" thing... not as scary as private prices.

my dentist is very goodwhen i needed my new tooth, he asked if i wanted a white one. then, he looked at me a bit funny and said "you want the gold one because it's shiny, don't you?"
he knows me too well ;)
