This is a question Pointless Experiments

Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

Snap!
I did this too, as a curious child. I held the flash against my eye, and pushed the button. Pow! Blind! I don't remember it hurting but I was rather surprised, and it took about half an hour before I could see shades of dark and light.

I was on a school camp at the time and decided against telling the teachers as I thought they would a) panic and b) take me to hospital.

I wonder if it did any permanent damage. I wonder if I should do it again. Hmm.
