You don't add the sugar syrup before fizzing!
Soda streams are practically impossible to clean; you're meant to fizz plain water, then add the sugar syrup. Otherwise it gets skanky and mouldy. *tsk* young people today.
You used to be able to buy a fizzy fruit milk drink. I think it lasted a couple of months on the market before everyone noticed it tasted revolting and gave you a headache.
