I can envisage you as being as alike here as you are in RL and kudos to you for that. But therein is the problem - I'm guessing that most of the negative nancy Internet bullies here wouldn't dream of behaving in the same manner in RL as they do here. For a start I think most of them would be too scared to and beyond that they would have real consequences to deal with due to their behaviour.
See here it seems most of the mods don't care or are on the same "team" as the nay-sayers so even if you could call stepping or banning a real consequence not many of them are going to have to face it are they?

To me it's a bit like the whole "twitter bullies" thing - people using some level of online anonymity to basically act like nasty people. Yet frequently as we've seen with the whole twitter thing the nasty, horrible people turn out to be weedy little entitled chavscum. Sad thing here tho is that there aren't many teen shitbags - many of the negatrons are like me - parents. I really hope that none of them behave the same way towards their families the way they do here. I know I don't.
