Family codes and rituals
Freddy Woo writes, "as a child we used to have a 'whoever cuts doesn't choose the slice' rule with cake. It worked brilliantly, but it's left me completely anal about dividing up food - my wife just takes the piss as I ritually compare all the slice sizes."

Did anyone else play the
punch buggy game where if you saw a Hitler mobile you have to shout Punch Buggy and then its colour. Dunno why.

Sort of
My girlfriend plays a variation of this, wherein she punches me in the arm, without warning whenever she sees a blue car.
The upshot is I spend the next 10 minutes looking for blue cars in a hawk-like fashion, for revenge purposes. I have not once seen a blue car whilst doing this.
I once pretended I had, just so I could punch her back. Sweet revenge.
