This is a question Family codes and rituals

Freddy Woo writes, "as a child we used to have a 'whoever cuts doesn't choose the slice' rule with cake. It worked brilliantly, but it's left me completely anal about dividing up food - my wife just takes the piss as I ritually compare all the slice sizes."

What codes and rituals does your family have?

*feels sad*
*at being and only child and not sharing family traditions especially at Christmas*

Aw bless!
At least you didn't have to suffer the pain of having your sister break your Sindy doll : (

Or have your brother
piss on you.

(to be fair, I was barely 5 and he was only a a year old, so it wasn't really his fault and I wouldn't even know that it had happened if my mother didn't keep repeating the story)

Edit: Bugger, I've just realised that'Mum repeating the story of my brother pissing on me' could have been a Family Ritual story if I hadn't just wasted it.
