Ah memories
I remember meeting him at a Fountains of Wayne gig at the LA2 in 1997. I was fairly drunk/awestruck at the time so all I could muster was "Wow! You're the guy from Fist of Fun aren't you? I LOVE your show. Can you sign my flyer?", and then hand him my pen. He smiled, confirmed his identity and signed my flyer before disappearing into the crowd.
What heartfelt message had he given me?
"To Mark,
That guy from Fist of Fun"
Had I met him a year or so later, I'm sure I would have just screamed "Egg! Egg, like a bird's egg! Egg!" in his faceā¦
