When I were a lad, er I mean student, way back in the late '80s...
We walked, got the bus or, horror of horrors, cycled!
Yup, got on our bikes and just fucking got on with it.
And no, I didn't even contemplate the idea of a car, I spent my first student loan on a bike which I have to this day.
A Saracen Toughtrack Extreme (?), if you're interested. Back in the day when Saracen still made proper bikes.
