A friend had a 1940s-themed birthday party this year, and everyone made a real effort - there were a lot of WWII soldiers and RAF pilots, and of course a couple of nazis.One pretty girl in her mid-20s had come as a WREN, giving me the opportunity to tell her, "You remind me of a picture of my grandmother".

Shit, I've done the same thingThe young lady in question comes from Sri Lanka but she walks and moves like my late grandmother of Scots descent did. The resemblance is startling.
