YupI've had a complete lack of 'random stranger giving me shit' since moving away to Norway, and red hair is definitely not more prominent here. It is as you say, a uniquely british piece of nastiness. In fact, trying to explain about anti-ginger sentiment in the UK sounds so absurd that I don't think anyone here believes me.
