My advice to allIf you drop food on the floor, as long as you pick it up within 3 seconds it is safe to eat.

Actually, the time varies according to the type of flooring and the local conditions.I'd say 5 is the default, but you then have to factor in what has been going on on that floor. An ordinary domestic dining room is 5, definitely.
