Unfortunately it doesn't always hold true that you get what you pay for.
My experience with clothes is that there is very little difference between cheap clothes and moderately priced clothes in terms of quality. You have to go right to the high-end of the spectrum before quality improves noticeably, I find. M&S is a good example of mid-range clothes; their suits are just as shitty as Tesco's or George's suits, but for twice the price.
