Don't be daftHamsters come from the pet shop.
(although technically, they're quite common in desert/scrubland type countries. I think the names are slightly misleading - syrian, russian, etc. I'm fairly certain that Roborovski hamsters are originally mongolian.)
They certainly don't come from Vietnam, as Hamsters have been banned there for perceived health reasons.
