Royal Mail once advised...
...that underlining a post code makes it harder for their automated sorting machines to read.

I'm not sure the same goes for towns.

That might save you a few penstrokes...

I just hit reply
to give the same advice.

The postcode should not be underlined, as it does indeed confuse the automatic sorters - which causes them to drop through and be sorted by hand, making life that little bit more tedious for the poor posties.

Post town underlining is fine, that's only read by humans.
