I used to do this...I even convinced the now ex that she should do this too until one day we were driving through the arse end of nowhere and she had to fill her car at a small town garage. She takes the hose to the far side of the car, it doesn't have much give, she ends up squeezing the handle and gets covered in petrol. I giggled uncontrollably for a while and have always used the "correct" side pumps since.
