There does seem to be a belief at Radio 4 HQthat all you need to do for a smash-hit sure fire winner is grap a few second rate standups - stubble, Converse All-Stars and a regular allowance from Daddy - and stick 'em in a quiz show. The result is always shit.
It's even worse when they are desperately scratching round for women - like that sad case who sings tuneless and unfunny songs on The Now Show. All the funny women are on the News Quiz.
