Hidden TreasureMy landlord had some builders in to remove a staircase in an outbuilding when a rusty biscuit tin fell out from under the woodwork.
What wonders were in this hidden treasure box? Two live hand grenades and 40 rounds of ammunition. From WW2. I've never seen builders run before.

Buried treasureWhen the 20p first came out I used to find lots of them on the beach in Paignton.
I was told when I was a wee lad that they had a treasure hunt in Blackpool whereby a hoard of silver cutlery was buried and the first person to find it got a prize. Except for the final year it happened and the organisers couldn't re-locate the box and so it lies buried in the sand. Could be another parent-child lie, or it could be real.
