This is a question Home Science

Have you split the atom in your kitchen? Made your own fireworks? Fired a bacon rocket through your window?
We love home science experiments - tell us about your best, preferably with instructions.

I have a Pi which I have not got on with cos Python looks a tad trickier than Arduino
and if I bollocks an I/O pin with the DIL version then it doesn't total the whole board, just the uC which I can replace. In fact, Chinese clone Arduino Nano 328s were going for about £11 on eBay if you don't mind waiting for them to arrive... it's my own fault really, I'm 40 and haven't really learned to program anything since BBC Micro BASIC.

All I will say is, I have got things to work with Arduino so that's 1-0 in my books :-)

Arduino Mega2560 for about 10ukp delivered?
Deal extreme have some good clones of the 2560 and the motor drive shield is less than a tenner too

I'm an Arduino noob and the way to address and poll the ports is so similar to the old BBC I can see why you like them.
