Catch21 says "I go out of my way to make life hell for my shitty middle-class housemates who go running to the landlord every time I break wind". Weird housemates are the gift that keep on giving - tell us about yours.

Its a shock to find common ground with the daily fail, but they have a point about the crack like nature of World of warcraft.
My mate lives in a house with 5 other guys. All of them are addicted to WOW. Now these are all either educated to masters level or working towards a masters degree in science/engineering subjects. smart guys but totally obsessed with killing orcs. The ones who have graduated don't have jobs, preferring to use their MSc s to pretend to be wizards on the dole.
None of them leave their rooms, My mate feels alone all the time he is home despite living in a large house.
My other friend is in a moderately successful band, and is having offers from record companies. Offers that had to be turned down as his drummer devoted the last two years of his 'life' to WOW.
I have never known anything to be as destructive as WOW to ones life. I have lived with stoners, known people who have Scarface size amounts of class A s on them at all times. The actual drug users were able to moderate their behavior enough to maintain jobs and education, along with social lives. I have yet to see someone who plays WOW do this.
Do not share accommodation with RPGers

was making my flatmate change her mind about WoW. Though, to be fair, all it took was a mention of a monthly fee. Y'can't be a stoner and a WoW player on a student loan, obviously she preferred the former.

It really is like crack. I've been on and off the bloody thing with my mates for nearly two years now, and it's not good.

who was completely obsessed with Eve (a space based mmorpg).
He had a good fulltime job, he'd eat/drink/talk with us after work, then he'd disappear into his room to play Eve until bedtime. He paid rent/bills on time, kept things (including himself) clean, and was generally a nice guy - really couldn't fault him as a flatmate.
On the other hand, I had friends who were living with a guy who was so lost to WoW that the only time they ever saw him leave his room was if the internet was down. The first time this happened, he went on a cleaning frenzy until it was back up. My friends quickly noticed a pattern with this, and took to occasionally breaking their network themselves in order to take advantage of it.

I know/knew a load of RPGers who did the whole tabletop roleplay and LARP,they were pretty social and have/had a good sense of humour too.
As for WOW, I tried a 2 week free trial and didn't see what the whole deal was, I just got bored. *shrugs*

I am a roleplayer. Larp, tabletop, MMOs (current is LotRo, cos WoW is for kids).
I have a family, an ok income, and work in a technical role. I also likes a little smoko, shall we say.
I've lived in many shared houses, sometimes with other roleplayers, sometimes not, in the past.
I am therefore terribly offended by your broad, slanderous categorisation....
..So, roll that d20 for initiative as I draw my sword and....oh....
....bugger.
