I've known several.
They've all been women who married for money, and found out that the guy was a controlling jerk. They were essentially just another possession.

And I can speak from close-up experience that people who were born ridiculously wealthy really are in a world far apart from the one that most of us inhabit. Being in the Gulf region and seeing all that oil money is amazing enough, but getting to really know them is truly an eye opener.
