An economist is in a lift
He says "if trends continue, we should reach the moon by Tuesday!"

Assuming he says this on the preceding Wednesday, and the moon will be at its closest to the Earth at that point,
the lift would still have to be travelling at an average speed in excess of 1,500 miles per hour.

Unless he is factoring in the acceleration when the lift starts moving, but even in that case I think his calculation would still probably be way out.
