Irrational Hatred
People who say "less" when they mean "fewer" ought to be turned into soup, the soup fed to baboons and the baboons fired into an active volcano. What has you grinding your teeth with rage, and why?

People who talk about "militant atheists"
When really they mean "atheists who aren't in the closet" or "atheists who have the bloody cheek to point out what's wrong with religion"
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Militant
I don't think even the "shrill" and "strident" Richard Dawkins advocates violence against the religious, does he?

Except Richard Dawkins isn't really an atheist.
He preaches the gospel of Richard Dawkins, and makes quite a tidy living from it by bringing out a new book of holy wisdom every year.
Well, I say "new"...

Yeah, all those books he writes about evolution by natural selection are all about himself really
Have you actually ever read anything he's written?

I don't question his credentials as a scientist.
I just don't believe in him as a prophet.

Bwah? Whoever said he was a prophet?
He's a scientist and author, that's all. I'll admit I'm a fan, but I'm going to see him in a couple of weeks at a book signing, not making a pilgimage to his holy temple and prostating myself before his magnificence.

That's true, there are some people who believe this guy Mohammed was a prophet
They're proper militant, some of them will kill you for just questioning their beliefs.

Well I guess that kinda works
though I doubt it's what the affronted religious/whining agnostics are thinking of when they use the phrase

Well said
It might even include "agnostics who aren't prepared to give theism the benefit of the doubt unless some convincing evidence can be put forward". A category even Richard Dawkins puts himself into.

The first time I heard the phrase was from Richard Dawkins TED talk.
I occasionally use it, but always in inverted commas.
But yes, well said.
