This is a question Irrational Hatred

People who say "less" when they mean "fewer" ought to be turned into soup, the soup fed to baboons and the baboons fired into an active volcano. What has you grinding your teeth with rage, and why?

In a country where you are penalised severely for having more than one child, you can understand the motivation behind this.

There are parts of the UK where they adopt the same view to avoid wear on the staircases.

Edit - I'm visiting China (Beijing) for a fortnight over Easter, taking two little girls. Any top tips?

Some nice parks
Chaoyang park is nice. The Forbidden City might be too much of a trek, depending on how old your girls are - it's massive. Same with Great Wall. The Summer Palace has nice grounds with a lake in which you can go boating. Beijing Zoo has excellent transport links and is the best in the country. Gaz me if you want more info.

Thanks mate
Zoo's probably a good shout. Park too.

We looked at the forbidden city in the guide but girls are 3 & 5 so the trip might be a bit of a drag for them. We've got some friends there too at the moment so hopefully they'll have some ideas, only they seem to work a very great deal so would be nice to have a couple of fall-backs for the first few days.

Cheers.

Top tip:
Chinese Tourism Agencies - Want to attract tourists to visit one of your nations' iconic cultural heritage sites? Don't call it "forbidden", then.
