Snack I really don't like the word snack. I don't know why. There is nothing wrong with it grammatically, I just don't like it.
It sounds like it should be a slang word and not for use in proper English.

F'me...It's the word 'refreshments'. I can't be doing with train journeys for fear I'll be offered: teas, coffees, hot chocolate; fresh sandwiches; crisps; confectionary and other general, fucking 'refreshments'.
And if someone dares to offer a lite bite I'm prone to coming out in hives.
