Lack of hair.Some men wear hats all the time because they are going or have gone bald. I guess they figure hiding it under a hat is less embarressing?
Personally I just shave my head, only time I wear a hat is at work (because I have to, sometimes) or sometimes in the height of summer I might wear a canvas hat to keep the sun off. Oh and a crash helmet, as I have to by law (and it protects what is left of my brain in the event of an accident!)
