I tend to stop talking to people who refuse to learn their native language.If a friend or family member of mine were to say "them people" I'd likely just stop talking to them. I'll hazard a guess that the people who say "them people" consider English their first language also.
Nothing wrong with not knowing -- but willful ignorance is pathetic and should be punished.
