I ate several live woodlice as a younger man.
They died a crunchy death in my mouth. Faintly mushroomy.

chocolate bombs
I used to know someone whose daughter had a habit of eating woodlice. She called them chocolate bombs... I believe your description more.

Chocolate did not enter my mind at any point during my period of woodlouse consumption.

They're related genetically to prawns, nice to know they taste nothing like prawns... I hate prawns.

have eaten them on survival training. Reverted to eating nettles and sorrel. Boiled.
