Pathological Liars
Friz writes, "I recently busted my mate who claimed to have 'supported the Kaiser Chiefs in 2001' by gently mentioning that they weren't even called that back then."
Some people seem to lead complete fantasy lives with lies stacked on lies stacked on more lies. Tell us about the ones you've met.
BTW, if any of you want to admit to making up all your QOTW stories, now would be a good time to do it.

UNI again
Never understood why Ian at Uni claimed these two things:
1) That he had never learnt to ride a bike, or
2) That he couldn't read the time on a clock/watch.
I mean, there's lies that boast, like I shagged Tina Turner, and then there are pointless lies that just make you think, 'bollocks'.
Oh, he was a scouser...

I'm crap at reading proper watches...
Takes me bloody ages compared to others, as I work out which hand I'm looking for...
S'what happens growing up with digital clocks all over.

He might not be lying about the clocks
It might just be true.
Some people just have a 'blind spot' when it comes to things like that.
I saw someone on a documentary once who just didn't get numbers. He wasn't daft, they just didn't make sense to him.
There is a kid I teach who draws every thing upside-down and doesn't know he's doing it!

Mrs Livebin
So true about the clocks. At school, I was always really good at french, but i frequently got crap marks when we had to do the telling the time part of the Tricolour books (remember those? Je m'appelle Jean Claude, et j'habite a La Rochelle...)
The reason I got crap marks wasnt because I didnt know the french but because I couldnt tell the sodding time... I was about 13. I eventually had to 'fess up to my teacher who thought it was fucking hilarious and made me have remedial telling the time lessons at lunch break.
*the shame*

I can't ride a bike,
and it takes mew almost a minute sometimes to work out what time my watch says it is.
I'm 24 and training to be a lawyer. I fail.

I had never ridden a pushbike in my life until last year.
Having said that, I now have a motorcycle license.
Just goes to show, it's never too late.
