But don't you get the distinct feeling that they don't actually give a shit about saving lives and dropping the crime rate, it's all about winning votes...As you say it's the "drugs are bad mkayy" approach, Viva la revolution!!!!

Oh but surely everyone realises
That when you ban something people immediately stop doing it.
Seriously though apart from the basic freedom of choice argument why should I have my choice of intoxicant constrained by a minority who are unable to control their intake.
Legalise, tax and regulate and the policing cash recovered can be put into world class rehab for those who need it
