Bought a bass guitar a couple of years ago having never before had any real inkling of being musical.Formed a band and last year, so for my 50th we played our first gig and we did a pretty good job and got people dancing.

Just do it!We were all beginners of similar ability, but decided to have a go - result is it gives you a reason to practise, and you get a lot better quicker. What we've all agreed is that if it isn't fun we don't do it. Embarrassment never killed anyone, and it's a great incentive to really practise.
