may I suggest"Have you ever considered a threesome" is a slightly softer approach than "I've met this fit girl from the gym".
Your wife will still shred all your clothes, throw you out of the house and reduce you to sleeping on park benches through the divorce courts, but at least you showed a bit of consideration.
