I'm glad I passed my test when i was in college but haven't really needed to drive ever.I'm glad I passed as I had the time then. I'm almost 30 now and I don't have the time between working and going to the pub.
Most of the cars I've sporadically have owned have been a burden if anything. I guess if I was a responsible parent I'd buy reliable cars but I'm not, so I haven't. Sometimes scrapping a pain in the arse and walking is liberating.
