This is a question Mums

Mrs Liveinabin tells us: My mum told me to eat my vegetables, or I wouldn't get any pudding. I'm 32 and told her I could do what I like. I ate my vegetables. Tell us about mums.

Currently caring for my mother..
..after a minor operation which has left her pretty much unable to fend for herself. It wouldn't be too much of a hassle if every last sodding thing wasn't a thingy or a doodah or a what-do-you-call-it. Seriously, I'm asked to pass the doodah quite regularly. If I ask what she means then it's invariably the one next to the dooberry behind the you-know-what. Things can also be "oojars" if all other explanations have failed. I have no idea what she's on about most of the time.

Smack her in the whatsitcalled then kick her in the oojamaflip. That'll learn 'er.

That's quite unusual
They generally only start doing that when they become wossnames, erm grandmothers.

But other women can understand it
If my missus tells me to get the "thingy off the wotsit", I don't have a clue what she means but our 16 year old daughter does.
If she then says the same thing 30 mins later, the 'thingy' and the wotsit' are different as well.

my mum
had oojamarkapivvies which apparantly were always next to the thingybob but sometimes by the whatchamacallit.

It's scary when you do get it
I know this is my step-dad I'm talking about here. He can be described as a 'character' and it can be safely said one of the best men I've met. He once said to me
'oh by the way I've put the oojars in the wotsit'. Without thinking my response was
'What? Put the car seats in the car?' (we had a people carrier)
he looked bemused, then almost scared and said
'yes, exactly'

It can be done, keep the faith!
