This is a question Neighbours

I used to live next door to a pair of elderly naturists, only finding out about their hobby when they bade me a cheerful, saggy 'Hello' while I was 25 feet up a ladder repairing the chimney. Luckily, a bush broke my fall, but the memory of a fat, naked man in an ill-fitting wig will live with me forever.

Surely...
..you have a claim against the owner of the bin that caused your accident? If it was on the kerb ready for collection on the instruction of the council then maybe they are at fault. Whatever, I'd make an apointment at your local CAB to at least see where you stand.

I'd personally say the driver of the car has more of a case to answer - if he/she was so close that they were unable to stop without hitting you, then they're at fault surely?
