How nerdy are you?This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

I feel remarkably un-nerdyAfter reading a few of these I actually feel *less* nerdy than usual. This is impressive as I'm a theoretical physics PhD student who collects warhammer 40K.
Oh, and to echo crackhouseceilidhband, these things are made slightly worse by being female. (I have glasses *and* currently braces though, so I think I win a bit)
Somehow I expect this QOTW is going to be an exercise in one-upmanship as we each try to out-nerd the other. That in itself is pretty nerdy. How ironic.

oh dear lord no!warhammer! Nooo! My rally team mate is a warhammer fan. I'm possibly not nerdy enough as I just don't get it...
(I traded my glasses for contact lenses, although from the age of 11-24 I had glasses, and from the age of 12-14 I had braces, and pretty much from birth I had asthma so I reckon I qualify as one, if not all, of the Goonies.)
Nerd girls are cool. Geek chic rocks.

@crackhouseceilidhbandI only took up the warhammer because my boyfriend's into it and I live in Nottingham (home of Warhammer World).
Can't do contacts due to stupid eyes (only need 1 contact and having 1 dry eye and 1 fine eye is *really* odd!)

@CatnessThat could be true, but all the girls I;ve met who wear glasses then move to contacts never look as good as wehn they did in glasses, perhaps it's just me?
