How nerdy are you?
This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

nah, sure I'm not
...I mean, so I'm a bit obsessed with Buffy (watched every episode at least 5 times, most a lot more but there's some that aren't worth more than that), failed my degree cos I was getting Tony Hawk 2 100% completed instead of revising, missed new year's eve before last because me and the girlfriend were watching Azumanga Daioh DVDs, spent yesterday morning at work explaining the electromagnetic spectrum to the girl I sit next to, for fun...nah, I'm fine.
especially when you consider the following:
my younger brother has named his external hard drive and mp3 player after star trek characters
my older brother gave me his DVD of Fight Club because the person who gave it to him wrote "happy birthday" on the inlay and it ruined it for him
my old housemate realised the neck on one of my guitars had been replaced because the serial number on the head didn't match the paint finish on the body...without having to look it up on the internet or anything
the drummer in my band made an excel spreadsheet to see if buying a van would be cheaper in the long run than renting one...
...all seems like normal behaviour to me.
