How nerdy are you?
This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

She has no idea what she's getting into. *evil chuckle*
Yesterday we had a concentration of geekiness in my back yard sufficient to give pause to anyone- two engineers and an engineering school dropout building a shed. The conversation ranged from the "all roads lead to Roam" pun I dropped earlier in the QOTW to the types of loads the various support members of the building would be subjected to. It was enough that the Lunatic Artist took refuge inside.
On the other hand, I imagine I'll find enough things around the area to keep her entertained- Maymont, Belle Isle, Skyline Drive, tea at the Jefferson, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the various shops of Carytown, the lunatic fringe that call themselves VCU art students, the even more lunatic fringe that I call my friends... yeah, she's in for an experience.
Thank you all for the warm wishes- I hope to get back to that side of the water ere long!
