The nicest thing someone's ever done for me
In amongst all the tales of bitterness and poo, we occasionally get fluffy stories that bring a small tear to our internet-jaded eyes.
In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.
Failing that, what nice things have you done for other people, whether they liked it or not?

As someone who works for National Express trains ...
... its the people who nick things, not the company.
I had a lady come in to see me, she'd fallen asleep on the train with her laptop on the seat beside her in a case.
When she awoke: No laptop.
The man sat on the other side of the train said he'd seen the man opposite her get up, put his jacket on, pick up the laptop and get off the train. He hadn't known if it was his or not, but readily admitted he should have been suspicious when the thief already had a laptop bag in his hand.
But most people are honest... if I had £1 for every phone thats been handed in....
