This is a question The nicest thing someone's ever done for me

In amongst all the tales of bitterness and poo, we occasionally get fluffy stories that bring a small tear to our internet-jaded eyes.

In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.

Failing that, what nice things have you done for other people, whether they liked it or not?

Ballunatic
Was there for me when my mum walked out on my 18th birthday ("you're legally an adult now").

He has done many wonderful things for me but that was the one that I thought of immediately.

Ouch
Your mum walked out on your 18th?

It was planned a long time before.
She didn't want to leave her children and I was the youngest child. She told me on my 18th and left the next morning.

I want to track your mum down
and rip her face off! You don't stop being a parent when the kids reach 18 - it's a job for life. Sorry, but I feel really angry at parents who don't hang around long enough.

Good on Ballunatic!
