This is a question The nicest thing someone's ever done for me

In amongst all the tales of bitterness and poo, we occasionally get fluffy stories that bring a small tear to our internet-jaded eyes.

In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.

Failing that, what nice things have you done for other people, whether they liked it or not?

Ladies and gentlemen
T'is a wonder of modern mechanical engineering. A rotato-spork centrally located whirlygigs the meat around until it is gently lashed gaily by heated elements of pure electrical flame. But more, much more than this, there is the choice to fit the carousel-attach-o-tron which, with the addition of shashliks - cleverly betopped with plastical tips shaped in the form of our lord's cross. The hugest and most satisfying wonder of this is the little hand of metal which grips the lord's cross and spins it expertly round, like a cad doing a celidh.

It is possibly the most perfect thing, evah.
