In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.

My mechanic is nice to me.He's usually a car mechanic, but he likes working on bikes.
Usually, when I go to collect my bike, and ask how much he wants, the answer is the same: "Just gis a fiver."

That's the kind of mechanic I need!I've spent about a grand and a half on my bike this year (major servicing, electrical problems, and wear and tear)... most of that labour. :(

I know what that's like.I have a moped for several years, and I spent more trying to get it roadworthy than I originally paid for it.
3 years after buying it I realised I wasn't really riding it, yet it was costing me £200 a year to keep it running (plus petrol), and I had done about 100 miles in those 3 years.
I sold it to a kid on eBay, and the poor sod broke down about 5 miles from my house, roughly 45 miles from his!
It's a shame too, because I didn't know about it until he gave me negative feedback - if he'd only emailed me I would have probably paid for the repairs (unless it was something he'd done like put diesel in it).
Oh well, live and learn.
