Okay, I'll tell you all the long story of how I ended up dancing naked down Margate seafront on a Bank Holiday Monday
It all started in a nightclub over in Ramsgate called Peggy Sue's...

*Deleted due to legal reasons*

If this qotw is still up in an hour or so I'll tell the full unexpurgated version and to hell with the legalities.

*EDIT* Hmm...over an hour....the b3ta gods are playing chicken....

I remember Peggy Sue's
I grew up in Margate (unfortunately)

Dear old Margate....
A friend of mine grew up in Cliftonville - he visited Beirut about ten years ago, said it was no different from home.

.
the park in Cliftonville was great though. not been back there in about 30 years. Im all nostalgic now!

The best thing about Margate was the Penny Arcade
out on the little pier down by the Lifeboat memorial statue - it went about 15/20 years ago.

And Dreamland.
The other best thing about Margate.
Scenic Railway was burned down last year.
The River Caves were closed up years ago.

Sad but true.

*sigh* All part of my childhood...gone.

Bloody hell, I feel all tearful and nostalgic now! For Margate!

The Scenic Railway has gone?
damn, Im genuienly saddened by that.

The Shell Grotto was a favourite of mine when I was a kid. Hope thats still there.

Some of the Railway still stands but it took a beating.
The Shell Grotto is still going - the family who used to own it (coincidentally their daughter went to school with me) sold it to a lady who is now a driving force in the Margate art scene and the whole regeneration of the old town.

No chickenlady.
Don't spoil the image I have of you.
(, Thu 16 Apr 2009, 19:24, closed)
Spoil it in the name of comedy, I demand it!

(, Thu 16 Apr 2009, 19:26, closed)
I suspect the image you have is rather too close to the truth.
Maybe...

I wonder
If someone will say "pictures or it didn't happen".
