Well yesterday I wrote
that my wife and I were in truble with our house purchase as another £2000 was needed and how I was selling everything. Today I read that the Stamp Duty threshold is being raised to £175,000 and our house is under that. We haven't completed the sale yet and are hoping this means we won't have to pay it thus taking us out of the shit. Anyone know anything about tax changes and whether it matters if you started the ball rolling before the changes as long as you complete after?
Big thanks to No3l for messaging me this morning to let me know, you may have saved my marriage ;)
Anyways we are very nevously excited now :)

You are good to go
The Stamp Duty change comes into force tommorow.
Your house purchase is not legally valid until contracts are exchanged and monies transferred.
Therefore you are in the clear (as long as you solicitor does not exchange today!)
What a nice spot of luck for you.
