That sort of thing happens to me all the time. I work in an office of a multinational corporation, so we have a lot of people from Europe and Asia here.

One day I was doing some work that involved me sticking my head and arms inside the top of a machine which had a heavy metal lid on a hinge. They had propped it open with a length of wood, about 70 degrees from the horizontal. I looked at it and said, "I'm not going in there! It looks waaay too Wile E. Coyote for my tastes."

I then spent ten minutes explaining the Road Runner and boxes propped up on sticks...
